Trip To Philippines Part 2

23RD OCTOBER

Today, we got up at about 7.30am. We are going for a tour which costs RM300 per person. We'll be visiting the Volcano at Tagaytay. I got the kids ready before 8.30am and Ranjit was suppose to buy breakfast for us. He didn't turn up at all. Guess he was too sleepy coz he didn't sleep the day before. Our transport arrived at 9am sharp. Hubby sent us down and wanted to buy breakfast for us. But I told him no need as the van was about to leave.
There was a lady in the van who's also a Malaysian from Malacca, joining the tour. Our tour guide was explaining to us about the city and etc. He told us that Makati used to be a swap and a lot of mosquitoes. In tagalog, Makati means itchy and that' how the city got its name. The journey to the volcano is about 2 hours. On our way, we stopped at the petrol station to get something to eat and drink. I was very particular when it comes to buying food. I'll always check the date before buying it. Being silly, I went to the counter and asked is the dated stated on the muffins corret as I didn't realise that the month comes first then only the date as it was stated 12/04/06.Hehe....

In the Jeepnee
View of the Jeepnee

Our first stop was a very old castle which used to be an entertainment place for the big shots. But now it is abandoned. Nothing much to see as the whole place left only the structure without the roof top. Hehe...Keith was excited with the jeepnee. That's the local transport there. We have to take the jeepnee in order to reach the hill top.

On top of the castle, we can actually see the view of the volcano which is located at a nearby island.
After that, we went to the monitoring station which is monitoring the volcano. The last time this volcano errupted was in 1969 and it has errupted for 33 times.

Then, we went to a place which looks like those cheap chalet at Langkawi for lunch. We were all sitting in a hut by the lake facing the volcano and the food was nice. Keith was sleeping while we were having our lunch peacefully. I woke him up to have his lunch after that. Being too excited, he refuse to eat nor drink his milk. It was only about 1pm and that about it for our trip. If we wanna go to the island, we need to pay separately. So, I decided to pay for my family to go to the island since we are here. I paid 3000pesos which is about RM225 just to charter a boat to the island. Everyone has to wear the life jacket which was stuffed with only styroform.

enter the boat

Keith was really excited as it was his first time sitting on a boat but Ruby was kinda scared. When we reached there, we had to hire a pony each to go up the mountain to see the volcano. Each of us have to pay 500pesos. I even have to pay for another pony for the boatman to be our tour guide.Keith was riding with me when a man came and stopped my pony asking for another 250 pesos for Keith. I saw kinda pissed coz' he's only a toddler and he's riding with me on a same pony. Not wanting to argue with him, I just paid him. I was holding on to Keith tightly as he was getting really excited and kept on moving his tiny bum. While we were riding halfway, the man who was guiding our pony jumped up and sat behind me. I was feeling irritated becoz of his sweat and he was sitting too close to me. Ewww!!!!!But luckily, it was only for awhile. The journey up there takes about 20 mins and it was kinda dangerous because of the slopes and big rocks.
When we almost reached the top, I saw smokes coming up from the ground. When we passed by, I can feel the heat coming up from the ground. There was nothing much there actually. When we looked down, it's like a lake below but you can see smokes coming up as the water down there is boiling. MIL and SIL's MIL had some coconut juice before we ride down again.
When we reached the bottom of the mountain, the stupid fella was asking me for money again. This time, it's tips for all the ppl who guided the ponies. Money...money..money.....I got really irritated with them...Children are running after me and begging for money. I didn't want to give it to them coz I know, all of them are going to come after me.
I was so happy to see my tour guide as I can escape from paying money again. But then again, I was wrong. I was asked to pay for the drinks that we had during lunch. I thought it was suppose to be paid by the tour company together with our lunch....AAARRRGGGG!!!!!
By the time we reached the apartment, it was about 6pm. Hubby called and asked whether we want him to pack dinner back or go out.We all decided to go out. I have about 45mins to get ready. I filled up the bath tub with bubbles and put the kids inside to bath while I wash the clothes. Keith did his poo poo in the tub again. I had to transfer both of them to MIL's bathroom to shower and asked MIL to get both of them changed while I wash the clothes and shower.
We went to somewhere nearby for indian food. The food was great. After dinner, we went back to the apartment. Hubby went out with Ranjit again while all of us went to bed early. Tomorrow will be full day shopping.Hehehe.....
