Keith's new couch

Keith and Ruby's new couch

Keith sitting on his couch while waiting for mummy and daddy to get ready to attend a wedding dinner.

Yesterday, hubby and I decided to get Keith a couch. We do not know why is he so facinated with stools, chairs, etc. Whenever he sees one, whether it's at home, in a shop, someone's house, by the roadside, etc. he'll quickly walk towards the stools and carry it. He'll pick the stool up with one hand and drag it along wherever he goes.
Yesterday, we brought him to the furniture shop to choose his own personal couch. He was so excited when he saw the couch and insisted to sit on it the moment he saw the couch. The couch is in the shape of a hand. It has two sizes actually. A taller and bigger one which can rotate 360 degree and the other one is shorter and cannot rotate. So, we decided to get the smaller one for Keith, so that it's easier for him to climb up. We have to get 2 couch so that Ruby and Keith will not fight for it.
At home, Keith was busy sitting on both couch as though he was checking and testing which one is softer and better. When we were busy taking off the plastic on top of the couch, he was so impatient to sit on it.

Keith's Toy addition

On the 19th of April was Sultan of Perak's birthday. It was a public holiday for Perak. Hubby and I decided to get a car we've been eyeing for Keith. Sometimes, getting a toy for Keith in Taiping is much more cheaper than getting it in K.L. The same car we saw in K.L. is selling for RM330 and we got it for RM230.
Besides the car, we even got him a swing. My room is like a mini playground now. Luckily it is big enough. I didn't want to keep his toys downstairs as I do not want him to break all my beloved liquor bottles collection on my bar.

Family Trip to Phuket Part 3

15th April 2006

Today, all of us got up kinda late and missed breakfast. We were waiting for the next morning since yesterday to eat the Thai Fried Rice again but too bad we missed it.
Today it's going to be our shopping spree and also visit to the beach. Going all the way to Phuket without visiting the beach is an imcomplete trip. By the time we got ready, it's almost 11.30a.m. (M'sia). We have to wait for the hotel shuttle service till noon so, we decided to take a few pics for rememberance.

While walking by the road, we saw a huge group of bikers going convoying back to their respective county except all those from the Western country. They need to ship their bikes back.We went and took some day view of some of the unique design discotecque at Bangla Road.

Big bikers convoying back

Tiger Discotecque day view

At about 3.30pm (M'sia), we went to the beach. My first view was (18sx) 2 old ladies half naked with an old man.Haha...Wat a great view to "cuci mata"...I didn't take any pics coz' I would want to make it so obvious that I am taking their pics. The two old ladies even waves at us...Haha.... Our walk along the beach really gave all of us a chance to cuci mata kau kau..Haha..We can even see young ladies doing the same thing...Keith really "untung" lar, can see so many sizes at such a young age..hahahaha.....Keith really enjoyed himself by the beach this is his 3rd time to the beach (1st-Gold Coast, 2nd Brunei and 3rd Phuket). He didn't want us to carry him as he prefer to walk on his own. Sahil didn't like the feeling of walking on the beach with sands. BIL was carrying him.

Keith pointing at the water

There was a playing ground nearby the beach, so we decided to bring the kids there to have a little fun. Very bad playground. No bench for parents to sit at all. We can see lotsa locals spreading mats to sit on the floor."Hey, wat about foreigners. Don't expect us to carry mats along!!!". Keith was being naughty again. At the playground, he was sliding down the slide all by himself and started to walk up the slide the moment he reached the foot of it. I was sitting at the foot of the slide enjoying a bottle of cold coka cola as it was so hot. After that, at about 5p.m. (M'sia), we took a Tuk Tuk back to the hotel.

At the Playground next to the beach

The weather was extremely hot today as the local said after the Songkran, it's going to be very hot. So, we decided to dip in the pool for awhile. Keith was so excited when I started to changed him into his swimming trunk. He quickly grab his float and asking me to open the sliding door as he was ready to go to the pool. I have to ask hubby to bring him down first as he was getting too impatient.

Keith and his beloved Whale float

Tonite, we are bringing the kids out clubbing. Some ppl think that we are mad but we are definitely dragging the stroller along incase the kids got sleepy and slept off. Tonite will not be a late nite as we need to get back to the hotel early and do some packing. The pub was kinda fun as they've got these Hammering games for ppl to play. This is a very easy game to play if you are good at hammering. There is a block of wood on almost every pubs with a bucket of huge nails. Each games consist of 2-4 players. All we need to do is to hammer the nail into the wood. Sounds easy huh...but it's not. You need to use the flat and small side of the hammer instead of the other round side of hammer to hammer. You are suppose to take turn to hit the nail once each time and see who manage to get the nail in first. (Will load the pic once I've got it from SIL..forgot to take from my camera..hehe)

Keith practicing Podium dancing for tonite's show

Keith was busy entertaining the girls while we were there and busy practicing his podium dancing. He slept off at about 12.30 a.m. I put him in the stroller to sleep while the men continue their drinks till 1.30a.m. We went back to the hotel after that coz' we need to get up early tomorrow. At first, I was thinking of asking hubby to go to the poolside bar for a drink but plan cancelled coz' the bar closed at 11.30p.m.

16th April 2006

Today, we got up at about 8a.m. to get ready for breakfast. This time, I am not leaving without my Thai Fried Rice. All of us manage to have our breakfast before checking out. Our van came at about 10a.m. to send us to the airport. I was kinda sad to leave coz I had such a great time. I told hubby that I wanted to come to Phuket for Songkran again next year.Hehe....

We reached the airport at about 11a.m. and the queue at the entrance was horrible. We were suppose to scan all our luggages before entering the airport. We were at the airport quite early. There's nothing much to see or shop at the airport as it is so pathetic. Our flights were 12.45 (Thai) but delayed till 1.30 p.m. (Thai) Keith was creating havoc at the airport coz' he refuse to eat and wanted to walk around. He was kinda grumpy too coz' he was feeling sleepy. At last, he slept off at about 1p.m. (Thai). He slept throughout the journey to K.L. and only got up when we landed. When we reached LCC terminal, he made me pay RM55 for a Winnie the Pooh Smarties. OMG....everything is so expensive.

We left for Taiping after that. By the time we reached Taiping, it was almost 11.30p.m. Keith slept all the way back to Taiping on my lap while I was chatting with hubby so that he don't feel tired and slept off. I was dozing off throughout the journey but manage to snap myself up and continue chit chatting with hubby.

Family Trip to Phuket Part 2

14th April 2006

Keith sitting at the breakfast table

Keith and mummy standing outside
the dining area with the hotel view behind

I got up as early as 7.30am (Malaysia), 6.30am (Thailand) today. It's a holiday and I don't wanna waste my time sleeping in the hotel. My hair smells like a stinking fish due to the splshing of water from yesterday and also the sea breeze. I had to wash my hair as I was feeling so uncomfortable. By the time I got myself ready, I mix Keith a bottle of milk with cereal in it. He was still sleeping, so I just push the teat into his mouth and he'll suck. MIL and SIL got up and took turns to bath. Keith vomitted on the bed and on the floor after that coz' he was still feeling sick. I gave him his medication and mix another bottle of milk for him after his shower. The men were still sleeping, so we decided to go for breakfast without them. The breakfast was so tasty. I had Thai fried rice again, while SIL had Thai fried Kuay Teow and MIL had the American breakdast. After breakfast, we woke them up to get ready to go to town. They actually got back home about 6.30 a.m. (Thailand). They came back with only 2 guns as BIL's gun broke.
I was raining with the sun shining today. The local ppl said that it'll rain the day after Songkran and then hot weather after that. Luckily, I brought a cap along with me. I borrowed SIL my cap to cover Sahil's head coz' he was sleeping while hubby took off his t-shirt to cover Keith while crossing the road. The men went to McD to have their lunch and we didn't have anything coz' we were too full with the breakfast.
After lunch, we walked under the rain to Bangla Road to have a good day view of the place and also shopping. Nothing is cheap in Phuket due to the peak season. Yesterday was Songkran and today is the Biker's Day. We can see all the big bikes from all over M'sia, S'pore, Thailand, etc. We went back to the hotel at about 5.30p.m. (M'sia) 4.30p.m. (Thai) as we wanted to go for a swim at the pool in the hotel.

The pool water was kinda warm and nice. Keith got so excited and was so worried that I forgot to carry his float. The moment we reached the pool, he wanted to jump into the pool but I carried him to have a quick shower first before entering the pool.
After that, we went back to the room to get ready for dinner. I've even ordered fried rice and noodle for bites coz' we didn't have our lunch. We went out again at about 8p.m. (M'sia), 7p.m.(Thai).

We went to Bangla Road again to have our dinner. Keith got so excited with the musics around. He wanted to walk on his own and was dancing on the road. He even took picture with the Aqua..Haha...He even disturb all the beautiful girls and followed them too. Such a cheeky boy. Along Bangla Road, there is a very unique game where you have to pay 100Bhat and if u win, you'll get 1000Bhat. It's called the "Sky Walk". It looks easy but it's not. You need to climb up the steps and press the bell in order to get the 1000Bhat. Lotsa ppl tried and only manage to go up to the second steps and the whole thing turn. Hubby brought us to a shop to have the Thai soup mee (like wantan mee with soup). The only thing different is that it has lotsa ingredients.
We went back to the hotel at about 11.30p.m. (M'sia) and Keith was already asleep. I went out again with Hubby and the rest. I left Keith with MIL in the hotel room.BIL and SIL brought Sahi along to the pub since he cannot stay with MIL. They left at about 1.30a.m. (M'sia) and I left at about 3.3a.m. (M'sia). Hubby didn't want to go back but I told him if Keith gets up early tomorrow, I'll send him to his room coz' I wanna have my rest too. Just because he doesn't need to take care of him in the morning, he think he can stay a little longer.

Family Trip to Phuket Part 1

Our family trip to Phuket was kinda havoc...First, MIL checked her passport last minute and it was expired. The flight is another 2 days and we have to go to K.L. by tomorrow evening. MIL cannot renew it on the 11th which is a public holiday. Which means, she only have till evening to get her passport. Hubby was kinda piss off with MIL when she told she didn't know that she need to use her passport to Phuket. She thought that it's like every other days we can walk or drive across Thailand border without a passport since hubby's cousin in law is working near the border.
The next day (12th), hubby brought MIL to the immigration as early as 8.30a.m. The officer in charge was kinda rude and told him that it's not his problem that my MIL is going on a trip. She should have checked the passport earlier. Well, I don't blame the officer coz' what he said is true. So, she's got no choice but to try her luck in Ipoh. BIL's FIL is an ex-policeman in Ipoh. We were hoping for him to pull some strings to get the passport down by 4p.m. MIL luck was on her side. She manage to get her passport done before we go to K.L. As for me, I was suppose to work today but have to take an emergency annual leave coz' Keith got sick and started vomitting. I went to the office to fill up the leave form and informed my Assistant Manager about my leave. After that, I drove Keith to the clinic to get his medicine. In my mind, I was praying that Keith won't get infected with HFM, Dengue, etc. Luckily, it was just a normal fever due to teething. His 2nd molar at the top both left and right side are coming out. I've even called up Keith's teacher to let them know that Keith is not coming for his class. We only manage to leave for K.L. at about 5.30pm coz' hubby was taking his sweet time. I was kinda annoyed with him for wasting time. I thought of leaving for K.L. early at least Keith can have a good rest once we're there early. But, we reached K.L. only at about 10p.m. BIL, SIL, MIL and Sahil (Keith's cousin), reached at about 11 p.m.
My dad was already in K.L. when we reached. Hubby's uncle went to pick him up from the airport at about 8 p.m. Bringing my dad along for a trip as he's not been for a holiday since mom passed away.

13th April 2006

Keith at the LCC Terminal departure hall

I got up as early as 7.00 a.m. to do my last minute packing and get Keith ready. The flight is at 12.45p.m. and we have to get to the LCC terminal which is a little further than KLIA. Luckily, hubby's uncle went to pick up my dad last nite and he's already find the way to get there. Hubby, got up at about 9.30a.m. He got ready and bought breakfast for all of us. We have to leave the house by 10.30a.m.
At the airport, Keith and Sahil started their nonsenses. Keith wanted Sahil's milk bottle while Sahil wanted Keith's milk bottle. We switched the bottle and gave it to them. Luckily, both of them are drinking the same milk. After awhile, they don't want the milk bottle anymore. I guess it's because Keith's used to the Avent bottle teat while Sahil is used to his own bottle. We had to wash the teats and give them the milk bottle.
At the boarding hall, Keith was busy playing with my MIL's handbag. Don't know why is he so facinated with the handbag. We tried to give him a paperbag, my handbag, SIL's handbag but he refuse to give back MIL's handbag. He cried and hold the handbag so tightly that I had to openhis grip and pull the handbag away. He refuse to drink his milk and only had 4 ounces since morning. He was kinda grumpy coz' he was sleepy and feeling uncomfortable. When we were lining up to board the plane, a group of Indonesian ladies were rushing to line up on the priority lane(for kids, old folks, pregnant, handicap). Hubby went and asked them where are they heading and told them this plane is going to Thailand. They answered, "Yes, they are going there too." At last when the officer in charge came and asked them, then only they moved coz' they are suppose to go to Indon. Then, when it was about to reach our turn to show our boarding passes, 2 Mat Salleh came and wanted to cut the queue, by acting stupid. But, they were sent to the other lane to queue.Haha....serve them right.
Keith slept in the aeroplane for about 15 mins only when we were about to land. He has a seat for himself coz' my colleague paid for the ticket and last minute couldn't make it. The flight to Phuket only takes about 1hr 15 mins. When we went to stamp our passport, we went to the priotity lane for ppl travelling with children. We didn't know why only 8 of us were on that lane to stamp our passport. Guess we were lucky or else we could have waited for at least 1/2 hr coz' the queue at the other lanes are so long. Again...these two idiot Mat Salleh trying to act dumb to try their luck to stamp their passport at the priority lane. Haha....they got chased away again...
Today, is Songkran (Water Festival) in Thailand. We are going to get wet with ppl splashing water. Luckily, we were travelling in a van or else our we could have gotten wet including our luggages. Throughout our journey to the hotel which is about 45 mins to Patong Beach, we could see the whole road is wet and ppl with the pick up trucks carry big barrel of water, ppl with the water hose spraying water at passerby, by the road. Our van got splashed too but a few naughty ladies, trying to scare us..haha.. I don't mind getting wet but only worried about Keith as he was sick.

Local people having big barrel of water in their pickup trucks

Our vehicle being splashed and
of water in the pickup truck shoot with water guns

By the time we checked into the hotel and changed our clothes, it was almost 5.30p.m (Malaysia) ,4.30p.m. (Thailand). Our hotel is on top of a hill coz' hubby was kinda Kiasu, scared of Tsunami.Haha....Our hotel is just 5 mins away fr the beach by car. We took the hotel shuttle, which is a pick up truck to town, for our dinner. MIL, SIL, Sahil, Keith and I were sitting in front, so that we won't get wet. Dad, BIL and hubby were sitting behind. By the time we get to our destination, they were soaked wet. We can see ppl carry huge water guns, buckets, water hose splashing water at them. The 'aquas' also were walking near our vehicle to pour waters at them..

The men are ready for war and to protect the ladies and babies..Haha..
after purchasing their "GUNS" by the roadside.

We were worried when we get down the vehicle to cross the road. By the driver told us to carry our hands and ppl won't splash water coz' we were carry a child. Phew.......Hubby and BIL bought a water gun to spray water at ppl. A Mat Salleh even appraoched them to ask to them spary water at his friend. While walking, BIL was stopped by a Mat Salleh. The Mat Salleh was pouring a bucket of water on him while telling him I am so sorry. Haha...So cute...
After our dinner, we went to this famous street called Bangla Road. This place is something like Petaling Street but only thing with pubs throughout the whole road. This is the only place where ppl could actually splash water till wee hours. Here...we cannot avoid not getting wet. Ppl are splashing and spraying water from both sides of the road and we are stuck in the middle. Even if u carry hand, ppl will still spray. Hubby got fed up and went to get a bigger water gun. His earlier water gun was given to my dad. Ppl actually fill up the water guns with ice cold water. Keith got a small water gun too. A shark from the movie Finding Nemo.Hehe......Some cheeky guys even came behind me and sprayed ice cold water on my butt. But we were not as wet as the others coz' we were carry the children.
Hubby brought us to a place to have supper and we really enjoyed the food. I just love the Thai fried rice. Keith and Sahil were both too exhausted and slept off while we were having our supper. We went back to the hotel at about 11p.m. The men went out to continue their Songkran and drinks while we were in the room babysitting.
